Web Developer Intern
Job Description
We are looking for a Web Developer Intern to gain valuable, hands-on experience by directly assisting in the development and maintenance of websites. This role offers exposure to both internal company projects and real-world client solutions, ensuring a diverse and practical learning experience. You'll be involved in various stages of the development lifecycle, contributing to the coding, design implementation, and functional testing of websites. This internship provides a unique opportunity to build a professional portfolio while acquiring foundational skills in front-end and/or back-end development through contribution to live projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior developers with coding, debugging, and implementing features for both internal company websites and client projects.
- Translate provided UI/UX designs and wireframes into functional, responsive web pages using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Help maintain and update content on websites built on platforms like WordPress or other common CMS solutions.
- Conduct basic testing (e.g., cross-browser compatibility, responsiveness) to identify and document bugs and issues before deployment.
- Assist in creating and updating technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and developer notes for ongoing projects.
- Actively research new web technologies, trends, and tools to contribute innovative solutions and improve personal skill development.
- Work closely with design, content, and marketing teams to ensure website functionality and aesthetics align with project goals.
Job Requirements
- Open to candidates with no prior professional experience; foundational knowledge or academic project experience in web development is an an advantage.
- Basic knowledge and experience with core web technologies (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript) is essential; familiarity with frameworks or CMS solutions (e.g., WordPress, React) is a plus.
- Minimum SPM holder; current enrollment or background in Computer Science, Web Development, or IT is highly beneficial.
- Strong ability to multitask, solve problems, identify bugs, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and collaborative skills for effective teamwork.
- Proficient in both written and spoken English is required; proficiency in Mandarin and/or Malay is an added bonus.
- Commitment to an internship period of a minimum of three months is preferred.
