Social Media Lead
Job Description
We are looking for a Social Media Lead to manage the strategic direction and operational efficiency of our social media division. This is a managerial role that requires actively overseeing and mentoring the entire team, providing decisive leadership and fostering professional development. You will spearhead business development by developing innovative, comprehensive marketing strategies and persuasively pitching them to clients to secure major accounts. A key responsibility is the continuous enhancement of our operational framework, including refining internal workflows and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Crucially, you hold ultimate responsibility for maintaining stringent quality control across all team outputs, which is the foundation for driving maximum client satisfaction and long-term retention.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide decisive managerial leadership to the entire Social Media Team, directly managing performance, conducting reviews, and owning the professional development of all direct reports.
- Own the team's operational framework, setting clear team objectives, establishing policies (SOPs), and implementing systems to guarantee project deadlines and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are consistently met.
- Lead the delegation and resource allocation process, assigning projects and tasks based on team capacity, expertise, and strategic priority.
- Spearhead the development of all high-level social media marketing strategies and campaign architectures, ensuring alignment with client business objectives and market intelligence.
- Direct the team's contribution to new business development, leading the preparation and delivery of strategic proposals and pitches to secure major accounts.
- Manage and approve all department budgets and resource expenditures across client accounts, ensuring financial efficiency and optimal return on investment (ROI).
- Serve as the final escalation point for all critical client strategy discussions and complex operational issues.
- Establish and enforce stringent quality control standards for all team outputs (visuals, copy, reporting, etc.), holding the team accountable for brand adherence and creative excellence.
- Analyze aggregated, high-level performance data to identify strategic weaknesses and opportunities, using these insights to direct future strategy and process improvements.
- Own the continuous refinement of internal workflows and SOPs, driving efficiency and scalability to support client satisfaction and long-term retention.
Job Requirements
- Mandatory proven experience in a managerial, supervisory, or leadership role, responsible for team performance, development, and project oversight.
- Minimum of three years of progressive experience in social media marketing and strategic content development.
- Expert understanding of media production workflows (photo/video), post-production standards, and editing software capabilities necessary for effective quality control and team guidance.
- Expert understanding of current social media platforms, emerging trends, and strategic best practices required for setting high-level business direction.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills necessary to direct teams, present strategies to clients, and collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects, multitask effectively, solve problems, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Minimum SPM holder; a diploma or degree in Marketing, Media, Communications, or a related field is highly beneficial.
- Proficient in both written and spoken English and Mandarin; knowledge of Malay is a bonus.
- Willingness to travel outstation as needed, with immediate availability being preferred.
