Ecommerce Intern
Job Description
We are looking for an Ecommerce Intern to immerse themselves in the crucial, day-to-day operational mechanics of an e-commerce business. This hands-on role involves directly assisting with inventory management, ensuring stock levels are accurately maintained and organized for efficient fulfillment. A primary responsibility is helping to process customer orders, which includes accurately picking and packing products to meet quality standards, and coordinating with logistics partners to ensure all shipments are processed and shipped on time. This internship provides essential practical experience covering the full operational lifecycle, from digital stock management systems right through to physical logistics and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Process daily customer orders, accurately picking products from inventory and ensuring they are packed securely and correctly labeled for shipment.
- Prepare necessary shipping documentation, coordinate pickups with delivery services, and ensure all orders are shipped on time according to service level agreements.
- Assist in monitoring and managing stock levels, performing regular cycle counts, and updating the digital inventory system to maintain accuracy.
- Help receive incoming product deliveries, verify contents against purchase orders, and properly organize and restock products in the warehouse or storage area.
- Process customer returns and exchanges, inspecting products for damage and updating inventory records as required.
- Provide support in updating product listings, pricing, and descriptions on the e-commerce platform as needed.
- Contribute ideas for improving the efficiency of the packing, shipping, and inventory management workflows.
Job Requirements
- Open to candidates with no prior professional experience; working experience in ecommerce operations, logistics, or retail is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge and experience with common ecommerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, WooCommerce, etc.) is considered a plus.
- Knowledge and experience in digital marketing, social media, or basic data entry/spreadsheet management are considered a plus.
- Minimum SPM holder; current enrollment or background in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or Communications is beneficial.
- Strong ability to multitask, solve problems, work with physical inventory, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in both written and spoken English is required; proficiency in Mandarin and/or Malay is a bonus.
- Commitment to an internship period of a minimum of three months is preferred.
- Ability to work on weekends and public holidays is preferred.
